Although Hurricane Ida is expected to generate significant economic and insured losses in Louisiana, it is unlikely to trigger ratings downgrades of individual P&C insurers or reinsurers, according to Fitch Ratings.

The agency said its rated insurers were well positioned to absorb significant catastrophe losses, as they had generally experienced capital expansion over the previous 12 months.
