Truist-owned retailer McGriff has reshuffled its transportation and environmental practices with two new hires, the company announced.

Marine and logistics expert Andy Lewis has joined McGriff as senior vice president for its national transportation division.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Lewis worked for almost six years at Alliant Insurance Services, where he most recently served as a first vice president, according to LinkedIn.

Before his tenure at Alliant, the executive served as producer at Durham & Bates for over a decade.

“As someone who understands the risk management and insurance needs of today’s transportation and logistics firms, we are thrilled to have Andy join the McGriff team,” said Scott Richards, president of McGriff’s national transportation practice.

“Andy’s innovation, expertise and market relationships will enhance our presence as a leading broker in the marine, transportation and logistics space,” he added.

The retailer also announced the appointment of Daniel Carille in its environmental practice as a new vice president and lead environmental marketer in New York.

Carille will help clients with their current and legacy liabilities. He was recently involved in liability transfer cases for contaminated coal-fired plants from the utility to private sectors.

Prior to the move, Carille worked at McGriff’s energy practice, where he provided consultative brokerage and policy placement for large power and commercial clients.

Before joining the company in 2019, the executive worked for over a year at Lockton, helping build the firm’s infrastructure insurance services business from scratch.

Carille has also worked at Marsh, where he held various roles, including environmental insurance adviser, associate client executive and vice president.

“We are excited to continue to expand our environmental practice and thrilled to have Dan join us in this important work,” said Cliff Yeckes, McGriff’s senior vice president and environmental practice leader, in a statement.

“Dan’s strong market knowledge, extensive experience and broad industry relationships will certainly be an asset to our team and the companies with whom we work,” he added.

The new two appointments are the latest moves in a series of staff changes that the company has announced recently.

Earlier this week, McGriif hired Tony Nicholas as a senior vice president and producer in its Houston-based energy and marine division.

Two months ago, the firm split its CEO role, left vacant by the departure of former CEO Rick Ulmer, between long-time veterans Read Davis and Renee Keen.

Following Ulmer’s resignation, he filed a lawsuit in Florida alleging that McGriff attempted to block his move to Alliant Underwriting Solutions.
