Average annual personal auto insurance premiums amounted to $1,529 in 2021, a 3% rise from the year before, according to a report by the personal auto insurance comparison site The Zebra.

According to an annual state of the market study by the InsurTech, the growth in average premiums stemmed in part from a return to more normal levels of economic activity after the downturn brought on by the pandemic.
