The industry’s talent shortage, which is fueling team lift-outs, resignations and talent moves between companies, was among the top issues on the minds of attendees at the 2022 WSIA Underwriting Summit in Orlando, Florida, this week.

Insurance executives stressed that the shortage has driven labor costs up across the industry. In some cases, sources said, wages have increased between 25% and 35% over the last 12 months.
