Fraud suspicion from insurance professionals rose to 20% of claims in 2022, compared with 18% in 2020 amidst economic headwinds, inflation and other pressures, according to the latest Insurance Information Institute's (III) Insurance Fraud Report.

The report found that out of the 420 insurance professionals surveyed, 80% see fighting fraud as a priority. Moreover, 33% of participants conducted fewer inspections due to Covid-19.
