Aon has said ILS investors’ investable cash has reduced after a phase of high activity, but it expects fresh capital to continue to arrive once broader capital market volatility recedes.

This came as it estimated the amount of alternative reinsurance capital reached $96bn as of 31 December 2021, dropping back $1bn from its mid-year 2021 estimate but still ahead of its year-end 2020 standing at $94bn.
