Aon accused of negligence in $340mn suit over Covid-driven event cancellations

Aon has been hit with a $340mn suit by Gartner Inc claiming breach of fiduciary duty and negligent misrepresentation for selling event cancelation coverage that failed to cover losses incurred when the Covid-19 pandemic struck.

Aon was Gartner’s broker for the two policies written by US Specialty Insurance Company (USSIC) and HCC Specialty Underwriters (HCC) that are the subject of a different lawsuit in federal court in New York.
