Premiums written by surplus lines carriers in Texas rose 45.7% in August to $1.12bn, the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas (SLTX) reported.

SLTX noted that August was the fifth consecutive month to exceed more than $1bn in premiums, fueling a 26.3%
