Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has said he wants to call a special session on property insurance market reform in December, and has extended a property tax deadline for homeowners following Hurricane Ian, as he seeks re-election on November 8.

Speaking yesterday at Fort Myers, Florida, DeSantis said the special session would also allow for appropriations so that funds could be funnelled to services where they were needed.
