Markel’s consolidated loss ratio (LR) climbed 8.4 points to 60.3% in Q4, as a higher insurance LR outweighed an improvement in the reinsurance segment.
The firm’s insurance LR increased to 60.7% in Q4 from 49.1% a year earlier, while the reinsurance LR moved down to 58.7%
