S&P Global Ratings has placed ‘BBB-’ rated Argo Group International Holdings and its ‘A-’ long-term financial strength and issuer credit ratings of its subsidiaries on credit watch with negative implications.

The carrier recently announced it was set to be acquired by Brookfield Reinsurance in an all cash-transaction valued at around $1.1bn.
