Tornado damages more than 2,000 homes in Mississippi: reports

More than 34,000 people were left without power across Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee, after a Tornado hit Mississippi on Friday, destroying 2,000 homes in the state, according to PowerOutage.us.

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado traveled approximately 59 miles from northern Issaquena County to northern Homes County, at a maximum width of three-quarters of a mile and maximum wind speed of 170 miles per hour.
