Progressive CEO: Loss severity in Q1 up 10% as frequency remained flat

Progressive CEO Tricia Griffith said loss severity in Q1 went up 10% from a year ago, while frequency remained relatively flat during the period, according to a shareholder letter.

The executive noted that the Q1 spike in loss severity was similar to the year-over-year increase in Q4 last year, as the costs of fixing cars remained high.
